I took my nephew to a golf range over the summer since he never had exposure to the sport of golf before. I showed him the two-hand "over-under" position and helped him line up for a shot as well. I was pleasantly surprised that he had good natural ability: Hitting shots with a 5-iron as long as 100 yards. Not bad for a 12 year-old! I am e-mailing this to him as soon as I finish writing this. I want to thank you for posting this. It's not only informative, but you went out of your way to giving some of your own tips that not only would help a child develop a love for the sport, but for adults who are new to the game as well. Have a good weekend!

I completely agree!! There are so many different situtions regarding your swing, one method simply is'nt enough. You have to take into consideration the slope of the ground, what the lie is like, and whether or not you have obstacles in front of your target, etc. There are simply so many techniques that can be used when attempting a golf shot, so to say that their is one defined perfect swing is not ethical.
